Paul Crowther, a remain supporter who has previously backed Labour as shown on his Facebook page admitted to attacking Nigel Farage in Newcastle.
Paul Crowther, 32, from Throckley in Newcastle, said: ‘I didn’t know he was in town, I thought “this is my only chance”.’
His Facebook page reveals likes for pages such as Newcastle for Europe, The Labour Party, and People’s Vote UK.
He has now been detained by police.
